Cathedral Campus Ministry

The Annunciation Cathedral's Campus Ministry program seeks to welcome surrounding young professionals and students into the life of the parish. The goal of the Cathedral's campus ministry is to create a safe, welcoming and inviting enviornment for those pursing their vocation in the academic and professional world to continue their unique spiritual calling to love God and neighbor. Understanding the need to continue ministry beyond JOY, GOYA, and Sunday School, the Cathedral has been and continues to be a safe haven for students and young adults to explore their faith and enjoy fellowship with other Orthodox Christians. Our campus ministry also allows for the intergration of young adults and young professionals into the life of the parish, and provides a means by which both students and young professionals alike can take on leadership roles in the parish.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship

Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) is the official collegiate campus ministry program under the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America. OCF transforms the lives of college students in the United States and Canada by guiding them along the path to Jesus Christ through His Church, cultivating a campus community of worship, witness, service, fellowship, and education.

Statistics show that about 60% of youth involved in the life of their religious community will not come back to their community of faith upon graduating college. In a world filled with darkness, hate, and distraction, especially in the life of a young adult, the Church as a whole needs to be present and proactive in the transformation of the hearts of it's young people. Through this ministry, and the Annunciation Cathedral's unwavering hospitality, the hearts and minds of our young professionals and students can continue to mature with faith in Christ and love of the other.

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, and the spiritual guidance of Father Thomas Chininis, the Annunciation has been blessed to host the Orthodox Christian Fellowship of Northeastern for over 7 years. The chapter started 7 years ago, under the leadership of Father Demetrios Tonias and now youth director of the Metropolis of Boston, Panos Coufos. Since its beginning, the Cathedral has been a proud and welcoming host to over 200 Orthodox Christian students from the universities of the Greater Boston Region: Northeastern, MCPHS, Wentworth, Emmanuel, Simmons, Boston Conservatory, MASS ART, and Boston University. While Orthodox Christian Fellowship welcomes many different students from many different surrounding colleges, the club itself is organized under the Spiritual Life Offices of Northeastern, and participates in monthly training, conferences, and meetings with faith organizations and leaders of different religious backgrounds.

The Orthodox Christian Fellowship Chapter meets weekly, Thursday nights at 6:00 pm at the Annunciation Cathedral, 514 Parker Street. The chapter participates in a biweekly discussion pertaining to the faith, followed by bi-weekly activities that promote fellowship and friendship in Christ.
